Will we just be visiting restaurants to sample food?No - you are in for a treat! In addition to delicious local food and drink tastings, we will also hear from and share the backgrounds and inspiration of the chefs/proprietors behind the locations we visit, as well as bite-size tidbits of historical, cultural and architectural information relevant to the area we are visiting.
-
How much food will there be on the wander (tour)? Our tours include tastings from 8-10 local eateries and collectively provide enough food for a satisfying meal for most people. We provide tastings, so please do not expect a full meal at each location. Tastings vary in portion size, with some tastings served while seated inside the restaurant, and others served in a more “on the go” manner to also allow time for the community and history component of the tour.
-
What about beverages?Although samples of food are the main focus of our culinary tastings, drinks are included at some locations. The beverage samples we include may be alcoholic or non-alcoholic, are subject to change, and vary between wanders. We are able to provide non-alcoholic alternatives for those who do not drink alcohol and those under 19. Please indicate this in your reservation under comments when purchasing tickets. Seeing as a good portion of our tour is spent wandering outdoors exploring the community, not all tasting stops are long enough for and/or conducive to serving beverages. As such, we highly recommend bringing along bottled water if you’d enjoy having something to drink throughout the experience - there will be options to fill it along the wander.
-
I am Vegan / Vegetarian – could this be accommodated during the Wander?Although we don’t know what the chefs will be serving us on the Wander, we cannot guarantee it will be either vegan or vegetarian. We have left the decision in their hands with what they serve based on the season and the farm to table options. No substitutions can be made. With the number of locations we will be visiting, we hope you will find something that works with your dietary requirements.
-
What if I have a dietary restriction or food allergy? We have made a point to select establishments that will serve a wide variety of food and drink items; however, there will not be individualized samples adhering to restrictions at each establishment. We hope you will find something that works with your dietary requirements.
-
Does the Artisanal Wanderer (aka tour guide) accept gratuities? Are they included in the ticket price?Artisanal Wanderer gratuities are not included in the ticket price. While not mandatory, if you had a great time, gratuities will be graciously accepted by your tour guide at the end of the tour. The standard gratuity in the industry is 15-20%.
-
Are gratuities for the servers included in my ticket price?Yes, in the tasting locations where we are seated and served, gratuities for the servers are included in the price of your ticket and have been taken care of behind the scenes.
-
What locations will we be visiting on the Wander? We have an interesting selection of locations who have agreed to partner with us for your Wander. Due to the variability of staff, the high volume of visitors to The County and the chefs’ availability, we don’t always know where we will be going with absolute certainty – every day could be a slightly different variation. Therefore, we decided not to list the locations we are visiting to avoid disappointment and to ensure that your Wander was full of surprises and delights. Some highlights of past wanders can be found visually in our Gallery.
-
I cannot find someone to watch my child during the Wander – could I bring them with me?Our recommendation for participation on the Wander is for children over 12 years of age. You would be required to pay for them to participate if we have room on the Wander. Our experience has shown the length of time and duration of the walk to be quite challenging for the attention spans of young children. If you have an infant child, and you want to carry them along the Wander, we will leave that decision to you. Many of the locations participating on the Wander have no room to bring a stroller inside their establishments.
-
Are pets allowed to accompany us on the Wander? No. Unfortunately, many of the establishments we are visiting do not permit pets on the Wander. Service dogs are permitted.
-
I booked a Wander and now have another friend or family member who wants to attend, but there is no availability showing. How can I add them?If the booking is full, it won’t be possible to book them. However, we may be able to move you to another date/time. Please call us at (343) 453-5366 or email to hello@countyepicurious.ca and we will do what we can to assist you.

I am now sick and don’t feel I can make the Wander. How do I cancel? We are very sorry you are not well. The cancellation policy is in the email we provided you upon booking the Wander. Here it is for ease of reference. If you are entitled to a refund, you can cancel directly on the site – or from a link on the email confirmation provided.
